The Sherman Library holds three book sales per year to raise operating funds. Our sales feature lots of recent fiction and non-fiction books, children’s books, videos and audio books to satisfy the taste of all kinds of readers. There are also plenty of specially priced books that collectors will love.
Most hardcover books are $2.00 and paperbacks are $1.00. Rare and collectible books are available at affordable prices.
When is the Book Sale?
We hold two book sales per year usually on a Saturday in March 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the third weekend in August Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where is the Book Sale?
The Book Sales are always held in the library in the basement. Children’s books are upstairs in the main library.
Volunteer at the Book Sales
Volunteers are always needed and appreciated at the book sales. You can help by organizing the books before the sale or selling books on the sale day. If you are interested in volunteering call us at 860-354-2455 or contact us at sl@biblio.org
How Can You Donate to the Book Sale?

Unfortunately, we cannot accept condensed books, outdated computer books, encyclopedias and textbooks
Where you can donate items for the book sale:
Please bring your donations to the library during operating hours no later than three weeks prior to the sale. We accept donations year-round. All donations are tax-deductible.
