Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Library was founded in 1989 to support and promote library services and activities. The Friends raise money to supplement the library budget through a yearly membership campaign and special events, such as the book sale that takes place each June. During the past year, the Friends have contributed generously towards the library's book budget and automation fund. In addition, they purchased a new computer, co-sponsored a book discussion group and provided refreshments for all the art show openings.
Their newsletter, Bookmark, is published quarterly and is mailed to Roxbury residents.
To join the Friends, mail a donation to Friends of the Roxbury Library, P.O. Box 74, Roxbury, CT 06783.
Annual Book Sale - June 20, 21st and 22nd
This year the Friends of the Roxbury Library honored local authors at the annual book sale. The Preview Party on Friday evening June 20th was well attended and thoroughly enjoyed by all present. Sales continued on Saturday, June 21st and Sunday June 22nd. The Friends would like to thank all our visitors, volunteers and especially our local authors who made this year's fundraiser such an overwhelming success.
