Substitute Reference Librarian

The Ridgefield Library seeks a dynamic, public service oriented individual to join our reference team at a busy public library serving a community of 25,000.  Average commitment 16-20 hours per month, including weekend and evening hours; schedule variable from week to week. Responsibilities include: working at the adult reference desk; assisting patrons using library materials, computers, equipment and services; answering adult, teen and children’s reference, readers advisory and technology questions.  Qualifications: MLS or enrollment in MLS program required; reference experience, preferably in a public library setting; excellent communication, computer and Internet skills; ability to multi-task; strong customer service attitude; experience with Dynix Horizon preferred.
