Ridgefield Library GUIDELINES FOR E-Mail Services
E-mail notification is available for overdue items and requested items available for pick-up. Save time, eliminate fines, reduce paper waste! You can also sign up to receive timely information about new and featured books, upcoming programs and other library services. Here’s how it works:
1. Adult holders of Ridgefield Library cards may sign up for these services. We are not able to include children’s accounts at this time.
2. Once you sign up, you will receive a welcome message confirming that your address is entered correctly into our system. You must reply to this message to activate e-mail notifications.
3. Make sure your e-mail program is set up to accept messages from:
a. “Ridgefield Library Circulation” with the sending address of rdgcirc@biblio.org for overdue and hold notices
b. “Ridgefield Library” with the sending address of rdgnews@biblio.org for e-mail newsletter
c. “Ridgefield Library” with the sending address of librarynews@bookletters.com for BookLetters
4. Keep the e-mail information we have on file current. Inform Circulation staff immediately of any change to your e-mail address, or submit new information electronically from the “My Account” section of our online catalog at www.ridgefieldlibrary.org (look for the “Profile” link).
5. For your library card account, you may choose to receive e-mail overdue notices, hold notifications or both. If selected, e-mail notice will replace phone notification of requested items available for pick-up and “snail mail” printed overdue notices. You may return to traditional notification methods at any time by informing Circulation staff.
6. It is your responsibility to check for e-mail notices from the Library in a timely manner. The Library is not responsible for overdue fines that accrue or “holds” that expire due to your delay in checking your e-mail.
