Library cards are issued at no charge to residents of Ridgefield who complete an application and provide proof of residency. Once you have filled out the online form, you must come in to the Library to present proof of residency, sign the application, and pick up your card. Please allow 2 or 3 days after applying online. Proof of residency may consist of one of the following: valid driver's license, a current printed utility bill or similar mail addressed to the applicant (or in the case of a minor, the responsible party) which has been received at a Ridgefield street address (no P.O. Boxes, please) within the last 60 days, any photo identification or current pass issued by the Town of Ridgefield provided the name and address are included along with an unexpired date, real estate ownership papers, tax bill, lease or other legal papers that are current and have the correct name and address. Students and juveniles must have a responsible party present to prove residency. By signing your application form, you are agreeing to be responsible for all materials checked out on your card and for all late fees, replacement charges or damage fees which may be associated with its use.
