GUIDELINES FOR BOOK DONATIONS FOR THE FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY SALES

 ·      All donations must be in good shape – no mold or mildew or odors.

·      Donations should be in sturdy containers (bags or boxes).

·      Donations must be brought into the Library during open hours and not left outside in the elements. Pick-up may be arranged in special cases by contacting Joan Laspia at 438-8766.

·      A receipt for tax purposes will gladly be provided if donor can supply the number of items of each type (e.g. X paperbacks; Y hardcover books; Z children’s books). Value of donations is determined by the donor in consultation with their tax advisor.

·      The Friends reserve the right to limit or refuse donations temporarily when storage space is full and/or immediately prior to sale dates when time is needed to prepare. However, the Friends are always willing to discuss alternate arrangements if timing of a donation is an issue.

·      The Friends are happy to accept all books in good condition (except as listed below), including textbooks, computer books and series or sets like Time-Life.  Also accepted are audiobooks, videotapes, DVDs and LPs.

·      The following items are not accepted:

o       Magazines

o       Condensed books

o       Old software

o       LP records

o       Encyclopedias that are not complete – full sets are welcome if all volumes are present

All donations become the property of the Ridgefield Library and the Friends, to be used or disposed of as appropriate.  Donated items cannot be accepted with any conditions.
