As a
special thank you to the parents (and other adults) whose encouragement
and cooperation are so vital to the success of the children's Summer
Reading Program, this year the Library Board has been giving away a
large, sturdy book bag to each participating family. So far, nearly 400
families have claimed theirs - have you? Drop by Children's Services
before the Summer Reading Program ends on Saturday to get yours. One per
family, please. |

Reading may be officially over, but the "around the world" musical fun
continues on Tuesday, August 14th

Moving to the Beat concert

Drop In Programs for all Ages Continue
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
While
we recover from the hectic pace of Summer Reading and put the final
touches on plans for the fall, there are still plenty of programs to
take advantage of throughout the month. For youngsters, there are the
perennial favorite d<b>rop-in
storytimes on Monday and Saturday mornings at 10:30 (for ages 3 and up)
and Friday Flicks (for
ages 2 and up), with screenings at 11 AM and 2 PM.
Adults
can take in one of our monthly book
discussions (see the link below for details of August
selections), the Hollister Film
Series showing Water
on August 14th and Cinema Paradiso
on the 28th, or this month's art
exhibit in the Dayton Program Room - black and white
photography by David Watson.
