Did You Know...?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Library Logo with addressIn honor of the town's 300th celebration, we will be featuring each week a tidbit of information about the past, present and future of the Library.
While libraries generally focus on the written word, the Ridgefield Library also offers regular art exhibits in the Dayton Program Room "Gallery." Each month we showcase paintings, photographs and other work by talented artists from Ridgefield and the region, often partnering with the Ridgefield Guild of Artists, the Candlewood Camera Club and other community groups to organize exhibits that range from the inspirational to the entertaining.
We frequently display in the stairway or in Children's Services the creations of younger artists from the Ridgefield Community Kindergarten and elsewhere. We are also the public exhibition spot for the annual Peace Poster contest sponsored by the Lions Club.
At one time, the Friends of the Library even maintained a collection of framed art reproductions that could be borrowed to spruce up an office or living room in need of a new look. Now, that's a full service library!
