Ridgefield Writes bannerThe Ridgefield Writes author festival has finally arrived! Click here to see a full schedule of events for readers - and writers - of all ages, going on all week at the Ridgefield Library. Registration is only required for the poetry workshop on Saturday afternoon, but we expect full houses for many programs, so come early.

Many thanks to the Friends of the Ridgefield Library and the Wadsworth Russell Lewis Fund for their support, to Books on the Common for book sales throughout the weekend and to our media sponsor WSHU Public Radio.

Did You Know...?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Library Logo with addressIn honor of the town's 300th celebration, we will be featuring each week a tidbit of information about the past, present and future of the Library.
Phyllis Paccadolmi devoted over 50 years of her life to the Ridgefield Library, joining the staff in 1946 and taking on nearly every job in the organization up to her retirement in 1999. In 2007 the Library Board of Directors inaugurated the annual Paccadolmi Awards, given to those who demonstrate the type of dedication to the Library that Miss P. showed throughout her long career.
On April 4th, the 2008 Paccadolmi Awards were bestowed on Dr. Ted Safford, a long-time Library Board member and advisor, and Nicole and Daniel Gutter, twin teenagers who have been faithful weekly volunteers in Children's Services for several years.
Be a Power User
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

As a subscriber to this e- newsletter, you are already a "power user" of the Ridgefield Library. Look for weekly tips to make you even more powerful!

THIS WEEK'S TIP: Parents and caregivers of pre-schoolers rarely get past the children's room of the Library, as they zoom in and out for story times, toddler books, "games computers" and more. That's why we've located a comprehensive collection of parenting resources in Children's Services, right next to the Children's Program Room. Spend those precious few moments during story time perusing a wealth of authoritative and informative books, videos and other material on everything a parent needs to know - from potty training to school readiness.
