Book Discussions on Tap this Week

Stack of books Critics' Circle. Tuesday 7:00 PM, Dayton Program Room. The Soloist by Mark Salzman. Renne Sundheimer is a one-time cello prodigy, who feels his gift has deserted him. His life is transformed by two disparate events: being selected for a jury in a murder trail for the killing of a Buddhist monk and becoming the teacher of a 9-year old cellist, whose talent may well surpass his own. The author grew up in Ridgefield and will be speaking at the Library at 1:30 on Sunday, April 27th as part of the Ridgefield Writes author festival.

Poetry Discussion Group. Friday 1:00 - 2:45 PM, Dayton Program Room. With poet and retired professor Alan Holder. This month's selection: The Poems of Philip Larkin. A limited of number of free copies is available for participants at the Circulation Desk, courtesy of the Friends of the Library.

Find out about upcoming book discussion titles.

Did You Know...?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Library Logo with address In honor of the town's 300th celebration, we will be featuring each week a tidbit of information about the past, present and future of the Library.
The Library's first public access computers with Internet capability went online in 1997 and quickly become a destination of choice for patrons. Today, the Library offers 26 workstations with Internet access for public use and logs over 2,000 computer sessions each month. Color printers, high-speed connections, bigger monitors and the availability of professional assistance from librarians and IT staff attract even those Ridgefielders with computers in their homes.
THIS WEEK'S TIP: National Library Week is the perfect time to point out the benefits of bringing your library card with you each time you visit the Library. It allows you to log on to Library computers or our secure wireless connection; it saves time in the check-out line; and it protects the privacy of your account information. Keep yours handy and being a power user is a snap.
