Digital Audiobooks are digital versions of printed books that can be downloaded
to any computer and/or portable audio player that supports Windows Media Player
(version 9 or 10).

How do I renew a digital audiobook?
First, login to your NetLibrary account. Then, click on the My checked out
Items link located at the top of your screen.
When you try to renew the expired license, a pop-up window will appear. Login
to renew your item.
Do not renew the item until close-to or after the expiration date. When you
renew the item, you will have another 21 days. However, any days you have remaining
on the old license will be lost.
How many times may I download a title?
Once you have checked out a title and acquired its license, the maximum number
of times you can download that title is three (3). Please note that once you've
reached the maximum, you won't be able to check out that item again until the
checkout period is complete (21 days).

How many times can they be renewed?
Digital Audiobooks may be renewed once for 21 additional days.
When the renewal period expires, you will have to download the audiobook again
to continue listening to it.

How many books may I have checked out?
You may have up to 10 audiobooks checked out at one time.

Can I check in or return an audiobook?
Digital audiobooks cannot be checked in or returned.
If you already have six checked-out items, you must wait until one of your items
expires before you can check out another title.

How many times can I transfer the audiobook to my
portable media player?
Each downloaded audiobook file permits 2 transfers to portable media players.

How do I transfer an audiobook to my portable device
using Windows Media Player 9?
Find your CD Quality downloaded audiobook file and double click the file to
open it with Windows Media Player. Windows Media Player opens and will obtain
the license from NetLibrary to allow the audiobook file to play.
Select Copy to CD or Device from the media player's menu options. A list of
available titles will be displayed in the Items to Copy frame.
Select the title you wish to download by clicking on the check box.
Select a target device from the Items on Device drop-down menu. Click on the
copy button to transfer the title.
Windows Media Player will transfer the file to your portable device. When the
transfer is complete, disconnect your portable device.
*Some MP3 players will need to use the Safely Remove Hardware icon (on the taskbar)
before removing the USB cable or an error will occur.

How do I transfer an audiobook to my portable device
using Windows Media Player version 10?
Find your CD Quality downloaded audio book file and double click the file to
open it with Windows Media Player. Windows Media Player opens and will obtain
the license from NetLibrary to allow the audiobook file to play.
You may stop playback at this point if you choose. Click the Library tab. The
media Library will be displayed.
Find your audiobook in the Library Playlist pane, or sort your list by selecting
the Now Playing selection.
Drag the audioboook title from the Contents or Details panes in your library
to the List pane to add it to the list of items to be synchronized, ensure that
your portable device is connected and click the Start sync button in the List
pane. Windows Media Player will transfer the file to your portable device.
When the transfer is complete, the status field will indicate Complete. You
may now disconnect your portable device.

Why can't I burn the audiobook to a CD?
For copyright purposes, audiobook files are encrypted to prevent them from
being burned to a CD.

Why can't I get NetLibrary to work with my iPod?
The iPod is not compatible with Windows Media Player files and therefore the
downloaded audiobooks will not play on it.
