_{VHS/DVD POLICY}

1. DVD/VHS material will circulate for seven days.

2. DVD/VHS material may be renewed one time.

3. There will be no limit to the amount of DVDs and/or videos checked out on a library card.

4. Fines for DVD/VHS material will be $1.00 per day per item, with a maximum fine of $5.00 per item.

5. In case of severe weather, patrons must call the library and the fine will be forgiven for that day. Fines will accumulate at the regular rate after the grace period.

6. There will be no age limit for checking out videos/DVDs.*

7. The borrower assumes responsibility in case of damage, theft or loss of the item. The patron will be charged for the replacement cost of the item.

8. The library is not responsible for damage to patron's equipment.

* This policy is in accordance with the Library's philosophy that there will be no limits placed on the accessibility of materials of any age group. This is in accordance with the "Library Bill of Rights", specifically, "Free Access to Libraries for Minors" statements of the American Library Association. The New Milford Public Library believes that it is the responsibility of parents, not the Library, to oversee the selection of materials made by their children.
