Nutmeg Award Winners 2008: The Lighning Thief by Rick Riordan for BOTH the Intermediate and Teen Categories! The Nutmeg Award encourages Connecticut students in grades 4-6 to read quality literature and choose their favorite book from a list of ten nominated titles. The nomination committee is comprised of children's librarians, school media specialists, reading specialists, and teachers. Mansfield students (grades 4-6) will vote on their favorite titles in January 2006, as will students throughout the state of Connecticut. Although you need not read all the books to vote, students are encouraged to read as many titles as possible so that voting will be fair and accurate. We welcome your
suggestions and comments, and we do read and consider each one. |
