Here is the schedule of Teen Events, feel free to stop in or call to register to attend a program. To inquire about space for programing please call the Library at 203-262-0626 x. 3 for information on restrictions and booking.

In case of bad weather, all programs and events at Southbury Library are cancelled if Region 15 Schools have a Delay, Cancellation or Early Dismissal. Please feel free to call to confirm a cancellation.

"Anime Movie Marathon"Take a break from the heat and join us for an all day affair of anime viewing. Each movie will have a mystery or crime to solve. Pizza and other snacks will be provided.

Case Closed : The Fourteenth Target
Someone is dealing out murder and mayhem one playing card at a time and the deck is stacked against Kogoro Mori! Those around the bumbling detective are on the hidden hit list with nobody safe from the methodical mayhem of an unknown madman. It's a full house of faces from the past and clues from the present but super-sleuth Conan Edogawa might need an ace up his sleeve to uncover the identity of this killer. It's not going to be easy, Conan just makes it look that way! Time is running out for The Fourteenth Target!

Death Note
Ace student Light Yagami finds the Death Note, a notebook intentionally dropped by a rogue "Shinigami" or death god named Ryuk. Any human whose name is written in the notebook dies. Upset with the current justice system, Light takes matters into his own hands and vows to use the power of the Death Note to rid the world of all evil, and become the God of the new world. Soon, the number of suspicious deaths of reported criminals catches the attention of the International Police Organization. A mysterious detective known only as L quickly learns that the serial killer, nicknamed Kira by the public, is located in Japan. Light realizes that L will be his greatest enemy, and a game of psychological cat and mouse between the two begins.

Cover "Breaking Dawn Release Party" Just in time for the release of the final book of the 'Twilight' saga we dare you to test your vampire knowledge against ours. Join us for a 'Jeopardy' style quiz game and see if you know more about the first three books than your friends. After that everyone will get the chance to make their own 'Twilight' t-shirt! Bring your own white t-shirt, already washed.

"Crime Scene Science"Provided by the Discovery Museum of Bridgport, CT.
Learn first hand about forensic science by performing various IDing techniques like fingerprint analysis and hand writing comparisons. Participants will actually have to work in small groups in order to solve a crime.

Registration required. Limited to 20 teens entering 6th grade and up. FULL

"Pastel Pet Portrait"Professional artist Grag Maicheck will show participants various pastel materials as well as samples of famous artists' work and their techniques. Participants will then try to create their own masterpieces by working off a picture of their pet or favorite animal. Participants are required to bring their own photos to work from.

"End of Summer Reading Karaoke Party"Celebrate the end of the summer reading program by singing your heart out at our third annual karaoke party! Anyone that has registered for the summer reading program at the beginning of the summer is eligible for the Grand Prize, but you must be present in order to collect!
